So, as you can see, preparations for the dinosaur party are well underway. I have changed my mind several times on the ‘cake front’ and have almost decided on a large square field of chocolate cake, with green coloured icing and sprinkled with green coconut to look like grass, surrounded by smaller dinosaur shaped cakes covered with brown fondant icing and decorated and then a dino tableaux of little edible dinos on top of the large cake, grazing at edible trees and a nest of little chocolate eggs….but then tomorrow it could be something entirely different.
Last night we had out first spaghetti squash from my brother’s garden. It was gorgeous! I halved it, scooped out the seeds, put a thinly sliced clove of garlic in each half, along with oil and lots of salt and pepper and herb salt and baked for about 40 mins. Served it with my wonderful meat Bolognese sauce. It was garlicy and lip smacking good. For those who don’t know, the cooked flesh separates into strands just like spaghetti.
Off to clip the garden hedge, it has grown like topsy as plants do around here. Then it’s back to painting dinosaurs onto a large piece of cardboard for bone bowling….as you do.
